Meredith Public Library
Challenges
The renovation and addition to the Meredith Public Library created significant changes to the historic building. The project provided updated ADA access, expanded space for additional programs, and with the well thought out design, brought three different generations of architecture together in a traditional and functional manner.
The original library site sat on a tight layout with limited parking and ADA access, but the building had great potential to bring the community together. It did so by providing expanded parking, a new elevator, new ADA sidewalks and renovation to the interior spaces. It also included a new addition that houses function/community use space, children’s room, maker’s space and staff offices. The project resulted in a vast improvement to the library and to the historic downtown and waterfront areas of Meredith, NH.
The Meredith Public Library was kept open and in operation throughout the project.
