Allenstown Community Center

Challenges

Milestone was the Construction Manager for the Allenstown Community Center. The building, which houses the Boys & Girls Club and the local Senior Center, is a two story wood frame structure, containing day rooms, offices, a commercial kitchen and recreation area. The project was constructed with funds from two CDBG Grants and CDFA tax credits. The building was built at an existing park, which had been contaminated from gasoline tank leak uphill of the site. This presented a major issue coordinating the excavation and disposal of materials, while coordinating with the environmental engineers, the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Service. All excavation was accomplished within EPA guidelines for a hazardous site working in conjunction with the environmental engineer. Milestone publicly bid all trades under the strict guidelines of the grant, and managed the construction.
